I've seen PS3s with their hard drives removed on eBay for ridiculously low prices. I have also seen 2.5" hard drives compatible with the PS3 for ridiculously low prices.

If I bought a PS3 hard drive and a PS3 with the hard drive removed, and put them together, would it work? This seems too good to be true, so I thought I'd ask you people.
